Landquart; Quality and robustness were the highest priorities when the new cegard/Mini light curtain was conceived. The huge interest shown in the product by hundreds of visitors to the CEDES’ stand at the recent Interlift ’07 exhibition suggests the product is set to be a major success.

Gerhard Bräuer, Product Manager with CEDES’ Business Unit Elevators, describes the evolution of the product as follows: “cegard/Mini is the fruit of 20 years’ experience in developing monitoring sensors to safeguard elevator doors. It enables us to combine the most modern technology with proven engineering in one light curtain.” 

 
According to Mr Bräuer, cegard/Mini is a light curtain that operates extremely reliably under harsh conditions. Its metal housing is a major advantage in this regard. As it utilizes components that are produced in large quantities, cegard/Mini enables all types of elevators to be safeguarded very cost-effectively.

cegard/Mini is an all-purpose application. Thanks to the compact design and integrated controller, together with its simple plug-and-play connectivity, the light curtain is quickly and easily installed and operational.

The height of the protected zone can be set at either 1,582 or 1,822 mm, according to requirements. When the system is running, the readily-visible integrated LED-display shows the system’s status.
