CEDES light curtains for potentially explosive atmospheres

The manufacture, processing, transport and storing involved in the chemical and petrochemical industries, oil and natural gas exploration fields, mining and other industries, such as food processing, can give rise to flammable materials, gases, steam, mist and dust. If these combustible substances mix with the oxygen in the air, they can create a potentially explosive atmosphere. Should an explosion be triggered, significant injury and damage can result. 

To help eliminate the risk of explosions, most countries have adopted, in the form of laws, regulations and standards, protective measures to ensure high levels of safety. Within the European Union, the ATEX 94/9/EG and 99/92/EG directives are designed to provide this protection.
