That means acting now
So, barely two years after the CEDES family members moved into their new Science Park ‘home’, planning permis-sion been granted by the local authorities for a major expan-sion of CEDES’ headquarters.
The three-story Science Park structure currently comprises five buildings, A-E, joined by a series of corridors. The first phase of the extension plan will see buildings C and D practi-cally doubled in size with extensions to the south. Depending on further capacity requirements, there is the option to extend some or all of the remaining three buildings in a similar fashion.
CEDES’ CEO, Dr Peter Nebiker, says the need to extend is clear. “We are a very forward-thinking company and have forecast continued growth over the coming years. We have to be proactive and ensure we have capacity we require to meet not just current demand, but future demand too. We cannot afford to sit on our laurels,” he explains.
Nebiker continues: “Our incredible growth means that al-though we only moved into our ultra-modern headquarters in March 2006, we are already operating close to our limits. This is, of course, a very welcome problem but one we must address the right way. And that means acting now.”
The recent deal with Rockwell Automation means production of CEDES’ safety and automation devices will continue in Landquart, alongside that of its Elevators and Doors & Gates divisions. Therefore, an inevitable expansion in production requirements for S&A has also been taken into account.
