CEDES’ successful Suppliers Day

Landquart; Fifty-five representatives from 34 suppliers took part in the 2008 CEDES’ Suppliers Day, held at the Science Park headquarters in Landquart last month. The representatives came from across Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

The traditional get-together, organized by CEDES’ central purchasing department, provides an ideal, relaxed platform for key suppliers to be brought up-to-speed on CEDES’ plans, as well as being able to have face-to-face discussions.

Suppliers are partners not merely service providers
CEO, Peter Neibiker, provided the guests with an overview of the company’s key figures, as well as outlining the company’s expansion plans. He said that the Suppliers Day underscores the relationship between CEDES and its suppliers.

“As we emphasize in our Quality Flower, CEDES sees its suppliers as partners, not merely as service providers. We invest a lot of time, energy and money in ensuring we develop long-term partnerships with these companies. This is in all our interests and enables us to provide our end customers with the best in products and services,” he commented.

Further presentations were given by CEDES’ Head of Production & Logistics, Juerg Zuest, and Head of Purchasing, Fred Schwendener. The managers of CEDES’ Elevators and Doors & Gates business units, Ueli Hotz and Heinz Huegli respectively, gave the suppliers a tour of the Science Park facility, with the focus on the latest products from both divisions.

To balance things up a bit, Altec Electronic AG’s Gilbert Lang, gave a 15 minute presentation outlining the relationship with CEDES from the point of view of the suppliers.

This year’s Best Supplier Bison went to the arwole foundation from Sargans. The Certificate for Outstanding Supplier Services went to EBV Elektronik GmbH, Dietikon while the Certificate for Outstanding Best Price/Performance Ratio was won by Kolb Wellpappe GmbH in Memmingen.

Gilbert Lang also made a special presentation of a crossbow to CEDES’ President of the Board of Directors, Beat De Coi. He said the crossbow signified how CEDES had always ‘hit the mark’ when it came to fostering its partnerships with suppliers.
