While Obama, Hillary and John battle it out for the presi-dency of the USA, CCA has acquired its own new
commander-in-chief. Steven Freedman has taken on the role of president and managing director of CEDES’ Corporation of America after ten years as one of the key personnel at SICK Inc.’s North American
headquarters.
He comes with a wealth of diverse,
multidisciplinary expertise in international business management, marketing and
sales.

was impressed!
Between 1993 and 1996 he worked as account executive with a financial services company in Philadelphia before joining the industrial components
manufacturer, Miller Edge Inc., as director of international sales and
marketing, specializing in the doors and gates market. Steven joined SICK Inc. in 1998 as their North American Automotive Industry Marketing and Sales Manager. Here he was responsible for all aspects of marketing and sales for what is the largest vertical market segment for all SICK Inc.’s divisions in the U.S., Canada and
Mexico. In 2001, he became head of the SICK’s Safety Systems Division and the following year he took over as head of Strategic Marketing and Sales for the Manufacturing Systems Customer Group. Here he led the marketing and sales
strategies in addition to holding a number of other key
responsibilities, including product development and management.
Steven relishes the challenge of steering CCA through American
waters. He says: “I have long been aware of CEDES’ products and was impressed how CCA firmly
established itself in the American market in a short space of time. My
predecessor, Dave Wachter, and his team have done a remarkable job to make such an
impact. Because no matter how good your products are, they are, in the end, only as good as the people pushing them.”

A native of Philadelphia, Steven has lived with his wife and three children in Minneapolis since 2001. His hobbies include
