Our CTO Sascha Frömming reviews his first 18 months at the helm of the CEDES R&D organization as it’s transforming into a truly global community, ready for future challenges. He also gives an insight into emerging innovations, trends and technologies.

Welcome to the latest edition of the CEDES Insights Newsletter, focused on the global R&D transformation, breakthrough developments, cutting-edge innovations, and the collaborative energy fueling our global research and development community.

Transforming while performing

Our R&D teams across the world are consolidating into a truly global, collaborative community. In parallel, our Berlin office, with its clear focus on IoT, Cloud and Data Analytics, is becoming the center of gravity within this global R&D organization.

To strengthen the collaborative approach, we have launched the CEDES Innovation Management Environment - a virtual platform designed to connect not only R&D experts, but also all domain experts across the regions. This environment fosters knowledge-sharing, crowdsources solutions for technical challenges, and constantly fills our innovation funnel.

Our global R&D community lives and breathes the core CEDES values of exploration, collaboration and reliability. Moreover, sustainability is at the heart of our development approach. From eco-friendly product design to energy-efficient manufacturing processes, we are committed to developing solutions that support both our customers and the planet.

Technological breakthroughs

Significant progress has been made in the integration of IoT within our core product lines. Our researchers are pushing the boundaries of connectivity, enabling seamless communication between sensors and cloud-based analytics platforms. This shows how innovation at CEDES translates into safer, more responsive environments.

I would like to encourage you to visit us at the NAEC Convention in Houston or at the interlift in Nuremberg to see our latest and greatest innovations in action. The cloud-based IoT platform CEDES Elevate enables remote health monitoring and traffic analysis for all elevators across the fleet, regardless of their make, model or age. In addition, object recognition and people counting, realized with our light curtains only, are mind-blowing and open many new fields of application. This has already been recognized by our partners, and we’ll be happy to show you some common approaches to solving our customers’ challenges.
